New Book coming in June!

Posted in Updates with tags , , , , , , , , on April 28, 2011 by coleenmcintyre

Well I’ve wrapped up the last of the paintings for my next book, coming out in June titled, “Old Mother Hubbard’s Mixed Up Cupboard (A Collection of Tangled Tales)”. All I have left to do now is a cover, which will be completed within a week. I used a combination of watercolor, gouache, and a little colored pencil on this one.

The book will be published by the same company¬† I did “Baking With Friends” with, and will be available through their website @: thegoops.com soon. I will also have available some signed copies for sale – and I will soon be announcing some book signing dates in which the author, Sameena Bachmeier, will be available for as well. Dates to be announced.

You can find out when the release is by going here: http://www.thegoops.com/fairytales.php

Portland Tarot Art Show

Posted in Updates with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on October 1, 2010 by coleenmcintyre

I can’t even begin to explain how good it feels to be working on my art again! While trying to sell my house this summer, I took my art desk out of the living room in an attempt to “stage” the house. The separation from my art desk and supplies broke my heart and left me uninspired. My desk and I have reunited to complete a painting for the Portland Tarot Show, which I’m so excited to be a part of.

The card that I received from the deck is seriously perfect; The Death Card. Signifying a time of change and new beginnings, this card couldn’t have come to me with better timing. I photographed my beautiful model, Valerie Heron, for this piece and I just finished it yesterday, in time to possibly get it on the show postcard. Seeing it on the computer however,¬† makes we want to work on it a little more. It’s looking a little flat to me…Hrmmmmm…. here we go…..can’t stop touching up!

Please join us on November 5th at¬† http://splendorporium.net to see over 100 artists interpretation of the deck (there will be some multiples since it’s a 72 card deck). More details to come.
